TrackNotes
Detailed, honest feedback on your music, whether it's a single track or a whole project. What's working, what isn't, and how to move it forward. From an engineer who's heard it all.
What TrackNotes covers
A trained ear on every aspect
Each feedback session is tailored to your goals. You choose the focus, or ask for a full-spectrum review across all three areas.
Comprehensive review of mix decisions — balance, panning, EQ, compression, and effects. Specific advice on achieving better clarity, depth, and cohesion.
A look into structure, melody, and dynamics. Insights on hooks, emotional impact, transitions, arrangement choices, and overall coherence.
Focused critique of vocal performances — timing, feel, expression, and technique. Practical, specific, and always constructive.

This is the wide view, not a track-by-track deep dive. If one track needs pulling apart in detail, send it through Single Track above.

TrackNotes FAQ
All feedback is written and delivered personally by Forest DLG — a sound engineer and producer who has worked with Universal Music, High Focus Records, and a long list of respected independent artists since 1999. Nobody else touches your track.
MP3 and WAV are preferred. Streaming links from SoundCloud, Dropbox, WeTransfer, or Google Drive are also accepted — whichever is easiest for you.
No strict limit. Single tracks over 5 minutes incur a small surcharge for the extra listening time, always agreed before you pay. EP and album pricing is set by track count, so length isn't a factor there.
Yes. The EP and Album options cover a whole project: a read on it as a whole, plus a few notes on each track. It's a broader listen than a single-track deep dive, so if one track needs pulling apart in detail, send that one through Single Track.
Most reports land within two to four days of submission. If I'm running longer than that, I'll tell you up front.
A detailed written report on your chosen focus areas, with specific, practical notes and clear next steps you can act on. Comprehensive Analysis goes deeper across the whole production.
Always. Your music is never shared, published, or used for anything other than writing your feedback. It stays yours.
Payment details are provided after you submit your track. I accept bank transfer, credit card, and PayPal. Payment is required before the feedback report is delivered.
